Staffing shortage closes UCC this weekend
Lack of staff will force the closure of the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre this weekend.
Bermuda Hospitals Board said that the “unanticipated staffing shortage” meant that the UCC would close tonight at midnight.
It is expected to reopen at 4pm on Monday, BHB said.
It added: “BHB will extend its fast-track service in the Emergency Department at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital over the weekend to midnight to accommodate people who would normally have attended the UCC and other with non-emergency medical conditions.
“Individuals with genuine medical emergencies will be seen as usual.”
BHB said the temporary closure was to “ensure adequate staffing to safely manage demand for all patients who require urgent medical care”.
The Board apologised for any inconvenience caused by the action.
