A market for female businesses will take place to mark “Women Wednesday” this evening.

Women who Own and Manage Businesses, a support group for female entrepreneurs, will host the event at Bermuda Athletic Association, from 6pm to 9pm.

Stephanie Lee, facilitator at WOMB, said: “One of the main purposes of WOMB is to provide opportunities for female entrepreneurs showcase themselves and their businesses.

“In doing research on Women in Entrepreneurship Day, it was discovered that the Wednesday, after Thanksgiving has been sanctioned as Women Wednesday, the day where people are encouraged to support female entrepreneurs in their community.”

A variety of businesses will be participating, including real estate agents, gift cards and other crafters, bakers and candy makers.

Ms Lee said: “I’m pleased to have such a number, and a selection of businesses represented. This just shows how influential Bermuda’s female entrepreneurs are to our economy.

“This is an opportunity to showcase the diversity, uniqueness, and originality of Bermuda’s female businesses.

“We encourage the community to come out to show their support.

WOMB has partnered with The Women’s Resource Centre, and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.
