No garbage collection today at East End

The Ministry of Public Works has apologised to East End residents after trash went uncollected today.

Collection in the western parishes, which began yesterday, will be completed this afternoon, with the exception of the areas between Scott's Hill Road and Whale Bay Road.

The normal waste collection schedule will resume next week with the West End being serviced on Monday and Thursday and the East End being serviced on Tuesday and Friday.

In areas where trash has yet to be collected, the ministry is requesting that residents secure waste bags in lidded bins.

As a reminder, the public can take their waste and recyclables to the Tynes Bay public drop off which is open from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm on Saturday, and from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday.
