Government has issued another warning about abandoned boats which will soon be removed from the water.

Owners have until March 8 to collect their vessels from the Ferry Reach, Mullet Bay, Coney Island and Mill’s Creek areas.

A spokeswoman said any vessels not collected will become Government property and will be disposed of, with the owners responsible for the costs.

The notice applies to:

• owners of abandoned boats that have already been contacted directly by the Department but have yet to sign the consent form, including Song of Freedom, The Josrine McCormick, Move It, Baby Striker, Mutual Fun and Ionaalso.

• owners of abandoned boats that Government has not been able to contact, including Endeavor, Dan-O and Pipe Dream.

Anyone wishing to allow Government to take ownership of the vessel and to dispose of it at no cost should complete a consent form and return it to the Department of Marine and Ports Services or the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
