Motorcyclist injured in crash

A male motorcyclist was taken to hospital yesterday after a two-vehicle crash in Southampton.

A police spokesman said the collision happened on Middle Road, near the junction with Lighthouse Road, at about 8.40am.

He added: “Initial information suggests that a car and a motorcycle were involved.

“Apparently the male rider was injured and taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“An update on the injured rider's condition will be provided in due course.

“Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this collision and witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
