Chewstick to plant trees on harbour islands

The Chewstick Foundation is to plant trees on Port's and Darrell's Islands as part of its Retreat Programme for 2018 this weekend.

The creative arts charity will also donate benches built on a retreat last year to Paget Island.

Chewstick's Deidra Lee Bean said: “It is all in keeping with the notion that we should all look for ways that we can leave our surroundings better than we found them.”

Butterfield & Vallis has sponsored the event for the last three years and Aberfeldy Nurseries will donate a tree for each of the three islands.

For more information about the retreat call 292-2439 or e-mail info@chewstick.org
