Charity walk will help poor families

A charity helping poor families around the world is to raise funds with a walk tomorrow.

Answering the Cry of the Poor International Bermuda wants to collect cash for its international shelter and child sponsorship programmes.

The charity is dedicated to improving the lives of poor families in developing countries.

The Bermuda branch of the charity has rebuilt 87 houses, sponsored more than 75 children around the world and aided victims of typhoons in the Philippines.

Ancop appealed for people to donate at least $1 a day for child sponsorship or $10 a day for the shelter of a poor family, or to join the Ancop Walk in Love on Sunday at 8am.

The walk will start at the Botanical Gardens in Paget.

Registration fee is $35 for adults and $25 for schoolchildren and students.

To register, call 703-2961 or 535-8777, e-mail ancopbermuda@gmail.com or sign up at www.racedayworld.com. For more details visit www.ancopbermuda.com
