Two elderly women are recovering in hospital after being involved in car crashes.

An 88-year-old Southampton woman was injured in a three-vehicle collision on Middle Road, near the junction with Riddell's Bay Road, Warwick, on Tuesday, at about 9am.

Police said she was in a stable condition in the intensive care unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital this morning.

An 86-year-old Pembroke woman was struck by a car while crossing the road outside Masters on Dundonald Street, yesterday, at about 5.50pm.

She was in a stable condition on a general ward at the hospital today.
