The destination is Royal Naval Dockyard this Sunday (December 2) as it hosts its inaugural Tree Lighting ceremony with an exciting local line up of entertainment for the entire family.

“This is the first of several events we are hosting in the run-up to Christmas,” said Stephanie Rodill, the Marketing and Events Manager for West End Development Corporation. “We are really getting into the Christmas spirit and I, for one, cannot wait!”

She added: “We, in partnership with the Bermuda Tourism Authority and PinkSand Entertainment, had an enormously successful revival and redesign of the weekly event, Destination Dockyard, through the summer season, which inspired us to recreate the Destination Dockyard experience to be offered in celebration of the holiday season.

“We also have other holiday themed Destination Dockyard events coming up – Destination Dockyard: Mistletoe Market on December 9 and Destination Dockyard: Christmas Edition on December 23.”

The Destination Dockyard: Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place from 5pm to 9pm on the North Lawn with DJ Rusty G, Last Call, DanceSations, Bermuda Dance Academy; Party Animals, Kinetix, Fire Dancers and a Bermuda Sloop Open House. There will also be a free Photobooth, free hot chocolate and free light-up gifts for children.

Last Call is an exciting Gospel Vocal Group featuring Tricray Astwood and Adrian Jones. DanceSations School of Dance, under the direction of Holly Pacheco, has been a welcomed addition to Dockyard’s holiday offerings for the past few years. The Bermuda Dance Academy under the direction of Nikia Manders, aspires to create a fun, positive and nurturing environment for all ages with a belief that arts enrich, inspire and transform lives and Kinetix – Natural Movement Studio is the only certified movement (yoga, gymnastics & aerial arts) studio in Bermuda dedicated to children, tweens, teens, families and those with special needs.

In addition to these performances guests will also enjoy free hot chocolate, free usage of a photo booth and free glow wands for kids while supplies last.

Ms Rodill added: “It’s going to be a great night, so come out to Dockyard for all your Christmas shopping, great entertainment and dining!.”
