Free career development workshops
Whether you are just starting your career, unemployed or underemployed and need assistance with your job search, the Department of Workforce Development is offering free career development workshops to assist with career guidance.
The Department has organised Career Development Training and a Registration Drive at the Devonshire Recreation Club on Thursday December 6th from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
“These workshops will assist individuals throughout the job search process from job readiness, to referrals to potential employers,” explained the Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports the Hon. Lovitta Foggo JP MP. “The workshops will cover a variety of topics including resume development, interview skills, understanding what employers want, social media presence and employment, job search strategies and much more.
“We really want to take the services of the Department ‘to the streets’, so to speak, and bring this one-stop-shop to the people. Anyone not employed or thinking of a career change, please come. Anyone who is a previous client of Workforce Development, please come and see us again; we have revamped our services. However, it should be stressed that this is not a job fair (employers will not be present); rather, staff will be there to help you best present yourself to potential employers, revamp your resume and enhance your chances of employment success.”
The workshops are open to the general public. For more information, contact the Department of Workforce Development at 297-7714/16.
The Department of Workforce Development provides career development, job readiness and training services in the community; empowering and equipping individuals to reach their career goals.
