Police dug into a festive meal for Christmas Day thanks to the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.

The yuletide treat — a full Christmas meal with all the trimmings — was organised by Timothy Morrison, the hotel’s general manager, and his staff to thank police for their service to the community.

Acting Superintendent Jerome Laws said officers were “touched and grateful” for the 35 meals.

He added: “Officers, like many in the essential services, work on Christmas Day and sadly are unable to celebrate the day with their loved ones, so it is very heart-warming to be thought of in such a meaningful way.

“On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, I would like to formally thank the general manager and his team for their benevolence.”
