Man hurt in bike/taxi crash
A man injured when his motorbike was in collision with a taxi last night was today in stable condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
A police spokesman said emergency services were called to a two vehicle collision on South Road, Warwick, near the junction with Warwickshire Drive about 9.15pm.
The spokesman said: “It appears that a motorcyclist was travelling west on South Road and a taxi was being driven in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided in the vicinity of Warwick Long Bay playground.
“The rider, said to be a 31-year-old Hamilton Parish man, was injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.”
The spokesman added: “Apparently, the motorcycle's male pillion passenger declined medical treatment by EMTs following the crash and the taxi driver was not hurt.”
Police have appealed for witnesses.
