Friends of Hospice, the charity supporting Agape House, Bermuda’s only hospice, today announced that Mrs. Jennifer Mahoney has joined the charity as Executive Director.

Mrs. Mahoney brings significant experience in many areas, including three years in the not-for-profit sector, as Executive Director of The Eliza DoLittle Society, which provides healthy and nutritious solutions to the food insecure in Bermuda with the aim of enhancing their quality of life. Prior to that, she held senior roles in marketing and customer care in the technology industry.

Mrs. Mahoney replaces Ms. Robin Sidders who has served as Interim Executive Director since July 2018. Ms. Sidders, a former member of the Board of Directors of Friends of Hospice, filled the position of Interim Executive Director until such time that a suitable replacement was identified. Ms. Sidders will continue on as a Director through a transition period until June 30, 2019.

Chairman of Friends of Hospice Ms. Alison Soares said, “I am delighted that Jennifer has joined Friends of Hospice and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to the team at a very exciting time for us.

We have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bermuda Hospitals Board to build a new hospice on Berry Hill Road, we have recently completed a BNSC Accreditation submission and are awaiting the results, and we have a renewed sense of enthusiasm and energy throughout the organization, both in the office and at Board level. I am fully confident that Jennifer is the right person to continue the achievements of the past year.”
