Healthy fun for Mother’s Day

Moms, daughters, sisters and girlfriends start your Mother's day celebrations with a dose of healthy fun. The Department of Health is inviting all women to Moving Sisters, a free Pre-Mother's Day happy hour experience on Friday, 10th May 2019, from 5:30 to7 p.m. at City Hall, Hamilton.

Move for Health Day is recognized annually on May 10th to encourage physical activity. This year, the Department of Health is combining Mother's Day with Move for Health Day to bring you Moving Sisters.

The evening will provide the opportunity for women to socialize and work together while moving more. The happy hour experience will include partnering workout sessions, a water bar and healthy food samplers.

Featured instructions by Inspired Fitness, Longevity Athletic Bermuda (The Lab) and BodyFit will lead workout sessions that can be done with a partner. There will also be chances to win prizes.

The Department of Health promotes wellness including exercising regularly for at least 30 minutes a day to obtain a healthy weight. And as we know, physical activity aids in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

You don't have to be a mother to join in on the fun this free event for all women. Register by 8th May at healthpromotion@gov.bm or call 278-4900. The first 50 persons to register will receive a prize.
