Guernsey charity adopts Bermuda shorts

A Guernsey charity is to use classic island style to raise money as part of its annual Bermuda Shorts Day.

Guernsey Male Uprising has asked people in the British Crown Dependency to don Bermuda shorts and long socks on the week of July 8 for the event.

Participants have also been asked to pay a £20 registration fee.

The cash raised will be used to fund the supply of sun lotion to schools in Guernsey to lower the risk of skin cancer.

The charity said it also planned to help educate young residents about the risk of sun exposure.

The annual event was first launched in 2016 to help highlight the risk of prostate, bowel and testicular cancer.
