Phenomenal People charity proudly announces the award of a $5,000 scholarship to Mackenzie Costa as she embarks on her journey to attend the

California Institute of the Arts in pursuit of a degree in Graphic Design in August.

Charity president, Margaret Giloth, said: “Mackenzie is the recipient of the Natalie Millar Award, named in honor of our generous donor who is inspired to invest in Dream Girls Club participants who, in addition to outstanding academic and civic accomplishments, have meaningfully contributed to the charity’s mentoring program and who reflect its values and attributes.”

Mackenzie joined the Dream Girls Club mentoring program at the starting age of 9 years old; in her senior school years she assisted with mentoring younger participants, assisted with multiple fund-raising events, and shared her considerable art talent in support of the charity’s promotional needs, which included building its social media platform. A 2019 Saltus graduate, Mackenzie was awarded a Subject Prize in Photography and she was recently recognized in the Visual Arts category of the 36th Annual Bermuda Outstanding Teen Awards.

Ms. Giloth said: “Phenomenal People and the Dream Girls Club are extremely proud to present this award to such a dedicated program participant. Mackenzie fully embraced the principles of dreaming big, working smart, and celebrating accomplishments. The Board of Directors, fellow participants, and Mackenzie’s family salute her as she moves forward to achieve her next big dream.
