A woman who died suddenly last week was named by police today.

Shaune Simmons, 52, passed away despite the best efforts of a relative and emergency crews who tried to save her.

The BPS offered condolences to Ms Simmons’ family and friends.

Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance crews attended a home on Cheriton Lane, Pembroke, at about 8.55pm last Thursday.

Ms Simmons was receiving CPR from a relative when the emergency teams arrived.

A police spokesman said today: “Despite life-saving efforts at the scene by the family member, police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel, which continued as she was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, Ms Simmons was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

“Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.”
