A single gunshot was reported last night in the area of Spruce Lane in Pembroke, according to police.

Officers responded to the incident, in a residential area near North Shore, at about 9.30pm.

There was no forensic evidence that a gun was discharged, a police spokesman said, and no one has attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
