Santas in blue raise cash for Christmas gifts

A pair of primary school pupils were today given a total of $1,200 in Christmas presents by big-hearted police officers.Members of Central Division’s A Watch, the records management support unit and the service’s communications centre presented the gifts to the children, identified only as 7-year-old Nasayah and 8-year-old Zionde’.The two, pupils at West Pembroke Primary School, were selected with the help of Michelle Spencer, the school counsellor, as this year’s recipients of the annual “Give a Child a Child a Christmas” fundraiser. A police spokeswoman said: “The individual officers made a combined donation of over $1,200 allowing them to purchase toys, books and school snacks for the youngsters and an additional gift of a MarketPlace gift voucher was presented to the guardians of the children.”
