Paget residents have been urged to check their CCTV footage to help in the search for a missing 72-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease.

Robert Douglas was last seen in person near his home in My Lord's Bay Lane in Hamilton Parish at about 4pm on March 24.

Police have now received CCTV footage of the father of four walking west along South Road near Paget traffic lights at 8.20pm that day. He had been captured on camera walking east on Angle Street, Hamilton, near its junction with North Street, about 50 minutes earlier.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said today: “The whereabouts of Mr Douglas is a matter of priority to the BPS.

“We are making an appeal for business and residential owners who have CCTV cameras located within Paget to make contact with police. Continued enquires have now led the investigation to Paget.”

Police and sniffer dogs scoured sections of the Railway Trail in Paget on Thursday.

Mr Douglas's family said this week they were “very concerned about his welfare and safe return”.

The senior is described as between 6ft 2in and 6ft 3in, slim and with a dark complexion.

He was wearing a faded blue hat, blue sweat top with a long dark sleeve shirt underneath, long black sweatpants, long red socks and black sneakers with a white trim.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr Douglas should call police on 247-1624 or 911.
