A cruise ship sparked curiosity yesterday when it was spotted offshore despite the island’s ports being closed to everything but essential cargo vessels. The Bermudian-flagged Regal Princess diverted to the island to drop off an injured entertainer.David Burt, the Premier, said last night that one of the dancers on board had suffered a back injury. The ship was required to drop anchor at Five Fathom Hole off the East End and a pilot boat brought the man ashore.Mr Burt said that, if needed, a medical evacuation flight from Florida would take the man to the United States for treatment. The ship left Port Everglades, Florida, on April 20 and was en route to Southampton, England, where she is expected to arrive on May 5.
