A hotel has offered 200 essential personnel a special meal to thank them for their hard work.

Rosewood Bermuda teamed up with the MEF restaurant group, and wholesalers Dunkley’s Dairy, Viking Food, Butterfield & Vallis and Europa Imports to give embodied soldiers of the Royal Bermuda Regiment a gourmet meal last Wednesday.

Sascha Hemmann, the managing director of the Tucker’s Point hotel, said: “We are proud of the extraordinary efforts demonstrated by our island’s essential workers.

“As part of our contribution to the Rosewood Raise initiative, Rosewood Bermuda hopes to show our gratitude for the community professionals who are dedicating their time for our protection on a daily basis.”

A spokeswoman added that the meal was one of several events organised under the Rosewood Raise banner — a relief effort launched by the Rosewood Hotel Group.

The international campaign has involved the donation of hotel rooms, along with meals and supplies, for essential workers.

The spokeswoman said: “While Rosewood Bermuda is temporarily ceasing operation to contain the spread of Covid-19, the resort remains committed to helping the local community.”
