Meals on Wheels has been given a little more fuel in its tank thanks to Rubis Energy Bermuda.

The company announced that it had donated $1,500 in fuel to the charity to help their volunteers deliver meals to seniors community.

Anguel Anguelov, general manager of Rubis Bermuda, said: “We are happy to make this donation to Meals on Wheels, and thus make another small contribution and support to our community, especially to the most vulnerable to this devastating pandemic members of society — our seniors.

“I would also like to thank all the volunteers who, despite the risks, follow the call of their hearts to help and support others, who are at even greater danger.

“They are living example of humanity to all of us.”

Jermaine Simons, sales manager of Rubis Bermuda, added: “During this unprecedented Covid-19 Pandemic, it is our seniors and vulnerable persons who need us the most.

“This fuel grant will help to relieve some of the financial burden these frontline volunteers may be under, so that they can focus on providing these critical services to those persons whose difficult position may be now aggravated.”
