Roadworks in Hamilton Parish

Lane closures will take place on North Shore Road and Harrington Sound Road from next week.Two releases from the Ministry of Public Works follow:The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that North Shore Road near Shelly Bay Beach in Hamilton Parish will undergo embankment repairs that will require a portion of the railway trail and at times a one-lane closure on North Shore Road eastbound lane. This embankment repair will commence west of Shelly Bay Beach along the railway trail pedestrian foot path. This temporary lane closure and portion of railway trail closure will take place during Monday, May 25th, 2020 through Friday, June 26th, 2020. Working hours will be from 8:00am to 3:30pm, weekly Monday through Friday.The railway trail will be closed from Shelly Bay Beach all the way heading west to North Shore Road embankment steps across from Home Port Drive.Motorists are asked to take precaution when heading east on North Shore Road near Shelly Bay Beach and pedestrians are advised to avoid this railway trail section and to utilize North Shore Road.Traffic controls will be under direction of Ministry of Public Works representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and signs.The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.Should there be any questions regarding this lane closure and railway trail closure, please direct queries to the attention of Mr. Ricardo Graham-Ward, Project Manager for MPW at #501-3122.The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that Harrington Sound Road, Hamilton Parish will undergo trench work that will require a one-lane closure. This trench work will commence west of Paynter’s Road and head west towards Devil’s Hole. The trench work will only affect the eastbound lane with 200’ section lengths at a time.This lane closure will take place during Monday, May 25th, 2020 through Friday, August 28th, 2020. Working hours will be from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, weekly Monday through Sunday.Motorists are asked to avoid this road closure section and to use alternative routes via Paynter’s Road and Devil’s Hole Hill for the duration of this trench work.Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and stop & go signs during rush hours.The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.Should there be any questions regarding these works, please direct queries to the attention of Mr. Jonathan Pedro, Project Manager for BELCO at 295-5111 ext. 1441.
