Bermudian to feature in US masterclass

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

An American-based Bermudian academic will take part in a masterclass panel discussion today on the dangers faced by black men in the United States.

Ty-Ron Douglas, an author and speaker, who is an associate professor of educational leadership and policy at the University of Missouri, will be joined by sportscaster Jay Harris, of ESPN, track star Obi Igbokwe, as well as by other academics.

The masterclass, to be broadcast at 1pm Bermuda time, was organised by US sports business and communications expert Marc Williams.

Dr Williams last week featured US former Olympian Carl Lewis, a multiple gold medal-winner, in one of his regular masterclasses.

Dr Douglas, formerly from Paget, is a regular visitor to his homeland and has highlighted educational inequality problems and racial injustice in Bermuda.

The masterclass debate can be seen on Facebook at @drmarc.masterclass and on Instagram and Twitter at @docspitsfire06.
