The health minister tonight praised “the majority of residents” for their responsible behaviour after 230 Covid-19 test results came back clear. But Kim Wilson reminded the public to continue to wear masks and keep a safe distance from others in public. She said: “The importance of physical distancing cannot be overstated.“Bermuda can take great pride in the way the majority of residents have embraced responsible actions that make us safer as a community and have kept Covid-19 spread down. These actions have saved lives. “It is unfortunate that just a few people’s disregard for the new rules we all have to live by can cause an outbreak.”Ms Wilson added: “I remind all of Bermuda to adhere to wearing a face mask in public places, and doing your best to maintain a six feet separation from others. “This will keep us all safe, but most of all, the persons in our community who are most vulnerable.”A total of 230 test results came back between yesterday and today and all were clear.Bermuda has logged a total 140 Covid-19 cases, with 39 of them active.Nine people aged from 66 to 91 are in hospital, two of them in critical care.A total of 92 people have recovered and nine people who had the disease have died. The ministry said that 41 of the cases came in from overseas and 83 were on-island transmissions with a known contact.Ten cases were transmitted on-island with an unknown contact and six were under investigation. The island’s country status remained “local transmission — cluster of cases”.
