Online summit on fintech
A “virtual summit” on blockchain and fintech business goes online tomorrow and Friday, including a presentation from Alex Marshall, the founder of BermudaChain.
BermudaChain has worked with the Government’s fintech business unit to develop educational courses on blockchain and fintech, and has helped create a blockchain and fintech “toolkit” for use throughout the Commonwealth.
The company is a consulting and business advisory service on blockchain, and advises on “the best ways for utilising, purchasing, storing and using cryptocurrency for transactions in both business or personally”, Mr Marshall said.
Mr Marshall will speak at 1.30pm tomorrow on a panel offered by the CoinGenius Collective Intelligence Summit, to be broadcast to more than 300,000 viewers.
The talk will cover the “mass adoption of daily use of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and fintech”, Mr Marshall said.
“Fintech is still evolving in Bermuda,” he said yesterday.
“We’re the first place to have regulations — it was the wild west a couple of years ago, but having regulations is a big factor for this jurisdiction.”
Mr Marshall said that banking to support blockchain should be settled in Bermuda by later this year.
