Plus one: active Covid-19 cases rises to 11
A new case of Covid-19 was logged yesterday after almost 800 tests came back to the Ministry of Health.
A ministry spokeswoman said the transmission route for the latest victim had not been established — but that it was on-island rather than coming in from overseas.
She added the case was under investigation. The other 794 tests were clear.
The news brought the total number of confirmed cases to 167. There are 11 active cases, all being monitored by public health officials. None are in hospital.
A total of 147 people have recovered and the death toll remains at nine.
On-island transmissions amounted to 85 with a known contact, and 19 cases were on-island transmissions with an unknown contact.
Two of the cases are under investigation.
A total of 61 cases came in from overseas.
The average age of confirmed cases was 58 and the age range was from 18 to 101.
Bermuda's country status is still “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average of the real-time reproduction number is less than 1.
