prepare to leave this Wednesday for a two-match tour of Jamaica as centre-back Wayne Campbell of Dandy Town incurred a suspected hamstring pull when he got tangled with Winston Trott, Jr., while battling for possession late in the first half.

Campbell lay grasping his leg for several minutes before receiving treatment and eventually had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, although he returned for the game's conclusion with the leg heavily wrapped.

The injury serves to further deplete a Bermuda team already weakened by the unavailability or injury to several other regular members.

The one saving grace for manager Gary Darrell would be that defence is an area where he possesses the most depth and Campbell was not expected to command a starting role.

"I guess you can say that I won't be going to Jamaica,'' said an obviously disappointed Campbell after the match. "I don't think my leg will be healed in the next 48 hours and be ready to leave on Wednesday.'' While Campbell appeared convinced that he will be unable to play, Darrell adopted a wait-and-see attitude.

"At this stage I don't know what the problem is,'' said Darrell. "We'll have to wait until after he sees (team) physio Kevin Anderson tomorrow to find out the extent of the injury.'' Darrell said that if the injury does turn out to be such that it would keep the defender out for an extended period it would be unlikely that he would make the trip.

Ironically, PHC's Mike Dill a player Darrell considers a possible replacement at the centre-back position was also seen limping around for much of yesterday's match with a similar leg injury, although obviously not nearly as severe as Campbell's.

Said Darrell: "The player I was looking at to possibly replace him was Mike Dill and if it turns out that both are unavailable we'll probably leave it and go with what we have.'' Devonshire Cougars' Shawn Smith, Boulevard's Leroy Stevens, Somerset's Dennis Brown and overseas professional Kentoine Jennings of Hereford are the remaining players Darrell can choose from for the central defensive role.

Stevens partnered Smith in the middle during the match against Norway in Febuary while Jennings' natural position is centre-back even though he played at right-back in the aforementioned match.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see who the manager selects to start this time around with the experienced former captain Brown back in the fray.

Another casualty from the FA Cup was PHC right-winger, Winston (Herb) Trott, Jr., who was also hospitalised briefly following a clash of heads during the second half.

Amazingly Trott continued to play for a while before being substituted and taken away by ambulance holding his head. He was admitted to the emergency room at the King Edward Memorial Hospital and later discharged.

Last year's FA Cup was also a painful one for Trott as he also required hospital treatment due to a leg injury in the first match against Boulevard.
