The Ocean View professional, representing the Island along with St. George's pro Kim Swan, fired a fine four-under par 68 in the final round of the 54-hole qualifier at Runaway Bay, Jamaica on Saturday.

But partner Swan, celebrating his 40th birthday, slumped to a disappointing eight-over 80 as the Bermuda pair combined for a final three-round total of 452 -- 20 over par.

That left them tied in 24th place with Belgium in the 34-strong field. Only the top 10 pairs qualified for the World Cup.

Pearman improved every day, carding rounds of 76-72-68, while Swan returned rounds of 78-78-80.

The tournament was won by the Philippines pair of Felix Cassa (68-69-73) and Danilo Cabajar (69-69-69) who finished at 15-under par on 417.

The Republic of Korea placed second and Colombia third while rounding out the top ten were Norway, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Chinese Taipei, Austria, India, Finland, Brazil and Venezuela. The latter three countries tied for tenth.
