Parish earn victory
Hamilton Parish squeezed out a narrow one-wicket victory over Somerset yesterday at Somerset, after recovering from 64-8 in reply to Somerset's modest 107.
Parish had the batting of David Scraders and M.Busby in the tailend to thank, with Scraders finishing with 23 not out and Busby scoring 24. At Busby's departure seven runs from victory, Scraders and A.Francis completed the job with the final runs as Somerset fought in vain for that last wicket. Kenny Maybury was the top bowler for Somerset, 22 from eight overs, while Steval Mendes claimed two for 27.
Shannon Warner was the high man for Somerset with 21 while Craig Brangman and Gladwin Ingham both contributed 18 in the middle order.
The match was the only one played yesterday. The matches between first and second placed St. David's and Warwick was not played at Lord's and the one at White Hill between Somerset Bridge and Social Club also did not go ahead.
