class A on Sunday in the Bacardi Rum Angling Tournament.

Owner Andrew Card and anglers Kathryn Garcia, Dianne Estis and Martin Estis all contributed to Reel Action being the first boat to take the Bacardi Rum Trophy under the new format.

The anglers on Reel Action weighed in 4051 pounds of fish at one point per pound. On the way to success, Garcia personally accounted for six yellowfin tuna totalling 1981 pounds to take the high point female angler award.

Runner-up in class A with 1831 pounds was Robert Lambe's New Nuts and the women continued their success with Candy Lee Foggo boating a yellowfin tuna at 503 pounds to take best tuna in class A.

To round out class A Jack Steiger on Captain Alan DeSilva's Mako IV captured the wahoo prize with a 461 pound specimen, one of only three wahoo caught.

Highlighting class B and taking the top spot honours was Richard Ricca's Reel Magician with 3131 points. Surprisingly, none of their 10 yellowfin tuna weighed in won a species prize.

Competition for species in class B came from David Simmons on Fast Pay with Ronnie Boys boating an excellent 701 pound yellowfin tuna which was also good enough to give them runner-up honours in class B.

The winners had to work hard for their success on what was a relatively quiet day. There were of course stories of active marlins around and at least one white marlin breakaway at the boat.

Absent from the scene were the dolphins with not a single entry weighed in.

The weigh-in master at Barrs Bay Park was Tom Smith, Bermuda's IGFA representative.

The prize presentation for all registered anglers is by invitation and will be held at the Bacardi Building on Saturday from 6.30 to 9.30 p.m.
