Cross-Country Competition, top female runner Jennifer Fisher enjoyed further success in the Bahamas recently.

Fisher stayed in the Bahamas after the cross country event and travelled from Nassau to Freeport where she won the open female division of the Bahama 5000, an international 5-K road race.

The Bermudian ran a time of 18 minutes flat in placing 10th overall of the 300-plus participants, beating Lisa Dorfman (18:51) from Miami and Della Potish (19:43) of Indiana for the top female spot.

The race was run over a certified flat course in hot and humid conditions, which slowed all times.

VOLLEYBALL VOL FC Skylarks and Kontrast emerged from Saturday's Women's and Men's Winter League tournament at Mount Saint Agnes with titles.

Skylarks, after going 6-2 in the round-robin phase, were able to best league champions Sail On 16-14, 15-5 in the women's final.

Meanwhile, Kontrast and Gray and Kempe battled for the men's title, going three games before Kontrast came out on top 15-9, 14-16, 15-7. CRICKET CRI The Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association will be holding a lecture at the Department of Youth and Sports at 7.30 p.m. tonight. All team captains are invited to attend along with others wishing to umpire during the coming season.
