Bailey's Bay top the standings with 31 points from two matches but after their disappointing cup loss to Devonshire Rec. face a formidable challenge tomorrow in the form of Southampton Rangers, who demolished Flatts their last time out.

Southampton will be hopeful that Ryan Belboda can reproduce the form shown against Flatts. The medium-pacer was devastating as he ripped apart the opponents' batting line-up, returning figures of seven for 20 as 10-man Flatts were skittled out for a paltry 53 runs.

However, they will be hard-pressed to repeat that scenario against a squad containing the likes of Charlie Marshall, Glenn Smith and Noel Gibbons. Smith in particular appears to have benefitted greatly from the pre-season tour to England, appearing to be in mid-season form from the outset, registering scores of 27, 32, 27 and 59.

Batting has been somewhat inconsistent for Southampton, although on paper they seem relatively sound. Olin Jones has come around following a sub-par 1991 campaign, but they will need more support from the middle order if they are to be successful against a pumped-up Bay attack.

Another intriguing match-up pits Cleveland and Somerset at Sea Breeze Oval.

Somerset started off hot in the limited-overs competition but have since cooled and after losing their first Open League match to Bailey's Bay, they struggled to hold on for a draw in their next outing against Devonshire Rec.

Meanwhile, Cleveland stand second with a perfect 2-0 record and a strike rate of 20.45. They raised some eyebrows with a surprisingly easy victory over Police and the boys from the west must be wary of the pace-spin combination of Albert (Mango) Simons and Del Hollis, which has accounted for 17 wickets the last three games.

Other matches have Social Club travelling to the west end to meet Willow Cuts, Devonshire Rec. hosting Warwick, Hamilton Parish entertaining Police, Nationals facing Somerset Bridge, Western Stars taking on Flatts and St.

David's and St. George's engaging in an east-end derby at Lord's.

Today, the public will be treated to Bermuda's first day/night game. The Bermuda Cricket Board of Control has selected two teams to play at National Stadium (4.30 p.m. start) for a charitable cause, organised by the Paget Lions Club.

The players will wear coloured tops as was the case during the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.
