of results of the annual Corporate Road Relay.

Those results will finally be printed in The Royal Gazette on Monday, more than a week after the event took place.

The popular road race, jointly sponsored by The Royal Gazette , The Mid-Ocean News and BTC, attracted more than 60 four-person teams last Sunday with overall victory going to the team from Bermuda Telephone Company.

However, the BTFA, the governing body for athletics in Bermuda who organise the event as one of their major fund-raisers, were unable throughout this week to provide either team or individual leg results.

BTFA official Pat Lake, who was responsible for compiling the times, flew off the Island this week.

The Royal Gazette finally received a copy of the results late yesterday and will publish that list on Monday.

But Gazette Sports Editor Adrian Robson said he was disappointed by the delay and had received numerous calls from competitors this week asking when the results would be published.

"It simply isn't acceptable for an organisation, particularly the governing body of a sport, to take on the responsibility of an event and then fail to fulfil their obligations to the competitors,'' said Robson.

"The very least a runner expects for his or her entry fee is a finishing time.

"Other road race organisations manage to do this without too much trouble.

It's a shame the BTFA can't be equally as efficient.''
