Bultusrol extend their lead

teams playing a four-ball two better ball event as defending gross champions Bultusrol Golf Club of New Jersey, led by Cindy Ferro, extending their lead with a solid performance.

Bultusrol are well-placed for a repeat at four-under par 202 while Emerald Hills of Florida are within striking distance of the leaders on 213. Emerald Hills moved up five places in the standings and if Bultusrol are to repeat they must produce a solid score on the final round on Friday back at St.

Daily gross honours went to Team Doniger with a better two-ball total of 160.

They are led by professional Debbie Doniger and could well be the team to watch.

Doniger is an attractive young pro who has the tough task of filling the shoes of LPGA founding member Marilyn Smith who had to withdraw from the tournament at the last moment due to medical reasons. Still, her team is here and doing quite well.

The Port Royal course was the real winner yesterday, claiming Jonathan's Landing CC and Paula's Pack as the main casualties of the day. The format was a particularly difficult one and provided major shifts in the standings.

In the net division Emerald Hills surged into first place after a tremendous performance which left them four strokes ahead of another Florida team, Jonathan's Landing, and six strokes clear of Bultusrol and Winchester III.

The net division is wide open with six teams having a realistic chance to win should things go their way on Friday.

Today is an off day and tomorrow is an informal fun day at Ocean View. The professionals will compete for $2,000 purse in a two-ball better ball pro-pro event. Friday will be the final round of the 54-hole Pro-Am competition at St.
