Now Bermuda's top striker will be gunning for Kentoine Jennings' Hereford on Saturday, though he could be the only Bermudian featured in the match.

Meshach Wade has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury and is now back home in Bermuda, arriving last weekend, while Kentoine Jennings is on the mend from a groin injury and could be recalled to the team to meet his former North Village teammate on Saturday.

"I've been training and could be there, it's just a matter of what he (manager John Sillett) wants to do,'' said Jennings last night from his Hereford home.

While Goater and Rotherham continue their battle for promotion back into the Third Division, Jennings will travel back to Bermuda on Sunday to join up with the Bermuda team which heads to Jamaica next Wednesday.

Because Aldershot have withdrawn from the league, Hereford's season is due to end a week earlier on April 25 against Scunthorpe, the day before Bermuda meet Haiti in their first leg World Cup qualifier.

Goater arrives in Hereford this weekend determined to perform well enough to hang onto his first team spot. He played the entire match last night as midfielder Rob Wilson scored the game's only goal about 20 minutes into the second half.

"You would have thought we would pace them to three or four goals but this was one of our hardest games this season,'' Goater explained. "We're on a good run but once we went 45 minutes and still hadn't scored we started to feel the pressure.

"We're happy to get the results and I don't mind scoring when we win but not when we draw or lose. I thought I played well.'' Goater, who earlier this season was linked to a possible move to Hereford to join up with his fellow Bermudians, had that dream move shattered when Sillett denied any such interest by saying he was only interested in a more experienced striker. "I took that personally,'' Goater admitted.

"Obviously a change of pace would have been right for me then, but I'm getting my chance now and at the moment I'm happy. I still haven't signed another contract and I'm still having talks with the manager. He offered me an extra 50 a week but I said no.'' Goater notched Rotherham's second goal on Saturday against Walsall, scoring in the last minute on a rebound after his penalty was saved.

"At the time I thought Tony (Cunningham) was going to be fit for tonight's match so I grabbed the ball to take the penalty,'' Goater said. "All the other players were asking `who is going to take it' and I picked up the ball as I was the closest to it.'' Rotherham are fourth in the standings a point behind both Blackpool and Mansfield who play each other on Saturday.
