Hotels take a bite out of Wolves

Youth League last weekend when they beat third-placed Wolves 3-0 to hand them their first home loss. The Hotels goals came through A.Rego, J.Law and B.Penter.

Leaders North Village Whites scored the biggest win of the day in this division when they hammered Somerset Blues 7-1 to stretch their perfect run to seven matches. Village lead by a point over St. George's who beat neighbours St. David's 4-0 in their east-end derby. D.Sabir and G.Johnson both scored twice for St. George's.

Southampton Rangers moved into a tie for third place with Wolves by beating Somerset Eagles 5-1 to move ahead of their opponents. K.Tucker led the Rangers scoring with four goals while team-mate T.Wilkinson had the other.

North Village Red and Devonshire Colts Orange remain unstoppable in the A Division. Village, still unbeaten at the top from seven matches, conceded two goals to Wolves before hitting back to beating them 6-2. J.Jennings led the goals with four while J.Edwards and T.Jennings got one each.

Second-placed Colts ran riot over BAA who kept them down to four goals in the first half as Colts went on to win 9-0. J.Blakeney hit a hat-trick while G.Trott and J.Smith both netted twice and R.Saltus and O.Butterfield one each.

Bottom team Paget went to PHC and snatched a point from their neighbours in another surprise result. Paget went ahead in the 38th minute to hold a 1-0 lead in the first half but the young Zebras equalised in the second half through J.Lambert to earn a point in this hard-fought battle.

In the Minors (under 14) Devonshire Colts zoomed to the top of the standings after a two-week break with a 6-1 win over Boulevard. B.Robinson hit three goals while D.Ming scored twice and C.Hill the other. Somerset were toppled from the ranks of the unbeaten as Paget shocked them 4-1 with S.York scoring three goals and K.Tucker the other. J.Butterfield replied for Somerset.

Somerset took care of Dandy Town 4-0 with G.Hollis scoring twice and T.Smith and C.DeSilva one apiece.

Bantam (under 16) action saw another Colts team beat BAA 7-2 with J.Aberdeen and N.Walker score two goals each and T.Hassell, A.Zuill and J.Francis adding single tallies for the winners.

Rangers could not hold a rampant PHC team who won 11-2. O.Shakir scored five times and M.Smith twice. O.Adderley, O.Franklin, D.Francis and L.Fubler all netted once. S.Thomas and D.Tucker replied for Rangers.

The only Premier (under 18) game saw North Village and Somerset battle to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night at Somerset.
