On Sunday he grabbed a second place finish in a 70 kilometre criterium, the Grande Prix de Manosque, held north of Aix-en-Provence.
The event attracted a field of 100, each completing 70 laps of a one kilometre course.
Hubbard rode into the lead after 20 laps and completed five out on his own.
But he was eventually caught by team-mate Cyril Rebrious and working together they proceeded to lap the rest of the field.
Reportedly they crossed the finish line together, but it was Rebrious who was awarded first place. Their lead on the pack was one minute, 20 seconds and their average speed an impressive 44 kph (27.3 mph).
