Optimist Championships, currently being held in Cork, Canada.

Following Monday's action Alexandra Crane held down first place after two races with a first and a fifth for 5.75 points, while just .25 of point behind in second place was Alexander Kirkland who has had two third places for six points.

In the 70-plus fleet, Bermuda's Alexander Lines was seventh after an 18th and a fourth, Giles Spurling 17th (13, 21) and John Paul Doughty 28th (21, 36).

Light and shifty conditions suited the Bermuda sailors over the first two days, but the forecast for yesterday's third race was for 15-20 knot winds which was a concern for Crane and Kirkland, two of the team's lightest members.
