Mangrove Bay on Sunday.

Smith accumulated four first place finishes, four seconds, a third and a sixth for a total of 11 points to reinforce his claim as the best small boat sailor in Bermuda.

Winds averaged 12 to 15 knots, but there were periods of 20-knot breezes that produced spectacular planing reaches for the enjoyment of spectators lining Sandys Boat Club.

Smith got off to a glorious start, winning the first two races before capsizing in the third for his worst finish of the day. For the next six races Smith never placed out of the top two and with the title already assured he cruised through the final race yet managed to place third.

Brett Wright (191 ) points) and Andreas Lewin (211 ) fought hard for second place throughout the day. Wright appeared a certainty for the spot before he tumbled to finishes of seventh and eighth in races eight and nine, while Lewin won both races. However, the former recovered to take second in the final race of the day and with Lewin managing only sixth claimed the runner-up position.

As a result of Sunday's racing Smith (461 ) moved past Lewin into first place in the race for the Commodore's Cup that takes into account all Spring Series races during March and April.
