Marshall scored three-over-par 76 during the first two rounds of the event but slipped to 10-over-par 83 on Friday and seven-over par 80 on Saturday. Her 72-hole total was 315.

The Bermuda golfer, however, was second highest finisher on the Wake Forest squad with the school grabbing eighth spot overall out of 17 teams competing at the 5,985 yard Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon. Team-mate Stephanie Neill finished ahead of Marshall.

It was the second consecutive year Marshall's North Carolina team finished in the top 10, having finished seventh in 1993.

Wake Forest coach Dianne Dailey was far from disappointed.

"The talent is so good and the fact that we entered with two freshmen, two sophomores and one junior makes our future here very bright,'' said Dailey.

"The fact that we finished in the top 10 for the second straight year is an outstanding achievement and is something that we can be very proud of.'' Marshall will be returning to Bermuda to compete in the Amateur Stroke Play Championships beginning on June 17.
