Maybury and Frost lift singles titles
Hotel and Spa Singles Classic on Saturday, each with straight set victories over their opponents.
Maybury defeated an ailing Mike Curry 7-5, 6-0 while Frost beat Debra Darrell 6-3, 6-4.
Curry, who overpowered Brian Way 6-1, 6-2 earlier in the day, was hobbling on the court with a foot injury, while Maybury, a strong competitor throughout the week-long tournament, proved once again to be unbeatable.
Frost managed to get to the finals by defeating Kelly Way Holland 6-2, 6-4.
Maybury topped Jerome Bradshaw in his semi-final, 6-2, 6-2.
For winning the tournament both Frost and Maybury received a three-night package at one of four Sonesta hotels in either New Orleans, Key Biscayne, Florida, Boston or Bermuda.
The runners-up received an overnight package at the Southampton hotel.
The tournament, a late addition to the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association calendar, will become a permanent fixture in 1995, possibly moving to February or March.
The next event is the BLTA tournament at Coral Beach which starts on Sunday and runs to November 13.
