On Sunday, Gibbons led the Halesowen batting against Bridgenorth Cricket Club with 92 out of a total of 231 before falling lbw. Bridgenorth replied with 166 for five at the close as Gibbons then took three for 51 from 16 overs with five maidens.

Halesowen are 19th in the standings out of 24 teams with the league to wind up this weekend. Gibbons is due back home next week to help Bailey's Bay in their chase to win the local league and knockout cup, providing they get by their quarter-final opponents on Saturday.

Today, Gibbons will act as delegate for the Birmingham Cricket Conference Under-16 final at Romsley. His responsibilities included being in control of the entire match and presenting the trophy at the end of the match.

On Friday, Gibbons will act as the delegate for Halesowen in the Willis Corroon final at Lord's between West Bromwich Dartmouth, for whom Zimbabwe captain David Houghton plays, and Knowle-Dorridge.
