Parish woes continue Ham. Parish 0, Wolves 3
and cup games yesterday at Wellington Oval when Wolves beat them to move a point behind idle Daihatsu Second Division leaders Southampton Rangers.
All the Wolves goals came in the first half, with Shannon Tuzo opening the scoring in the fifth minute and Keith Watson making it 2-0 in the 27th. Horace Landy put the points in the bag with the third goal a minute before the break.
Parish, who have scored just once this season, had three players booked in the second half, Phillip Burgess, Sean Smith and Franklyn Simmons, while Anthony Thomas of Wolves was ejected in the 72nd minute for kicking an opponent in an off-the-ball incident.
St. David's 5, Paget 1 St. David's ended their sequence of draws with their first league win which moves them onto five points with Wolves and Somerset Eagles.
But it took a goal from Paget to jolt them at St. David's as Ottis Minors brought the home team back level with the first of his two goals before Keith Jennings put them in front from a free kick.
St. David's scored three more in the second half with Minors making it 3-1 and Jennings adding the fourth. Substitute Lionel Cann closed out the scoring for the Islanders.
Social Club 1, Som. Eagles 2 Gladstone Wade scored after 57 minutes to give Somerset Eagles victory by a slim margin at PHC Stadium.
But Eagles had to fight hard for the points against a determined Social Club side whose defence was held together by veteran centre-half Larry Darrell.
Eddie Callendar put Eagles ahead with a goal after 10 minutes before Rembert Hill drew Social Club level just before the break.
Although Social Club challenged for the entire second half their attack struggled and could not come up with an equaliser once Wade put Eagles ahead.
The game between Southampton Rangers and Prospect, scheduled for Southampton Oval, was postponed.
Prospect notified Southampton in the morning that they would not be able to field a team because many of their players, mostly Policemen, were on duty because of the shooting incident at a Hamilton nightclub on Saturday night.
