Pitcher leads juniors in Ontario tourney

Chris Smith carded a final round 76 to move up to seventh spot while Fraser Hunt placed eighth on 247.

In the 16-18 division, early pacesetter Chaka DeSilva slipped with a final round of 82 to finish 14th with a 54-hole total of 240. Rajesh Pachai placed 19th on 247 in a field which numbered 56.

In a two-player girls' event, Jennifer Spurling coasted to victory with a final round of 88 for a 247 total.

The group of youngsters, which also includes Matthew Durrant, Chris Brough, Eric West, Ryan Mello, Ravi Pachai, Mark Robinson and Neil Fenton, have now moved onto to Niagara Falls to compete in the Whirlpool Junior Championships.

Saturday's 12th annual St. George's Golf Club Trustees Tournament was highlighted by two holes-in-one.

Ocean View professional Dwayne Pearman aced the par three fifth and Alfred Konrad duplicated that feat on the par-three ninth.

The captain's choice tournament was won by Joe Cheeseman, Keith Cassidy, Joan Wood and Morris Brangman with a nine-under-par score of 53.
