Lippert began playing rugby when he was at the University of California at Irvine in 1980. Nine years later he suited up as a member of the Eagles against North Auckland. As a member of the 1991 World Cup team, Lippert started in matches against Italy and New Zealand. A graduate of the University of San Diego, he was voted most valuable player on the San Diego State University team.

Tom Billups, 2, hooker: Age -- 28; Height -- Five feet nine inches; Weight -- 192 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Occupation -- Fitness Director; Caps -- 2; Sevens -- 14.

Billups earned his first Eagle cap against Canada last year and followed that up with spectacular play against Australia in October. Known mostly as a Sevens player, he is now the top hooker on the Eagles. He also played American football for Augustana College.

Don James, 3, tight head prop: Age -- 30; Height -- Six feet three inches; Weight -- 235 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Position -- Prop; Occupation -- Environmental Consultant; Caps -- 4.

A rugby player for 13 years, James regained a spot on the Eagles last year because of his fitness and exceptional play. The tour of Malaysia Tens was his first captaincy. Besides rugby, he was a standout on the American football team at the University of California at Berkeley. Following the Eagles tour to England in 1987 and Wales in 1989 he played for Harlequins while pursuing a law degree at Oxford. He was first capped against Canada at the 1990 Can-Am in Seattle, and his second cap came shortly after in Australia. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos of the NFL in 1985.

Kevin Swords, 4, left lock: Age -- 33; Height -- Six feet five inches; Weight -- 245 pounds; Club -- Beacon Hill (Boston); Occupation -- Student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Caps -- 32.

Swords first played for the US against Japan in 1985 and is the most capped Eagle forward. He was a member of the 1987 and 1991 World Cup teams, becoming captain after Brian Vizard was hurt in the World Cup against Italy in 1991. He also toured with the Barbarians in 1992, scoring a try. He played in 22 consecutive games at lock for the Eagles, still a record. He remains captain of the US Air Force Reserves team.

Rob Randall, 5, right lock: Age -- 26; Height -- Six feet four inches; Weight -- 240 pounds; Club -- United, Salt Lake City; Occupation -- Student; Caps -- 1.

His first Eagle cap came against Australia last October where his play won the admiration by selectors, coaches and fans. A native of Hastings, New Zealand, he played rugby for Waikato. His representative rugby experience includes touring Australia with New Zealand Secondary Schools in 1985 and playing against Japan the same year in 1986. He is also a champion water polo player, swimming for New Zealand from 1984 to 1986.

Chris Campbell, 6, tight flanker: Age -- 25; Height -- Six feet four inches; Weight -- 235 pounds; Club -- Atlanta Life College; Occupation -- Student; Caps -- 2.

Campbell has been playing rugby for six years and earned his first cap against Canada last year. He has also played for the US Navy team and US Military Select side. He helped Life College to the US Rugby East Club championship.

Richard Tardits, 7, open flanker: Age -- 28; Height -- Six feet two inches; Weight -- 240 pounds; Club -- Mystic River Rugby, Boston; Occupation -- Salesman/Speaker; Caps -- 1.

A native of Biarritz, France, Tardits has been playing rugby for 14 years, making his debut for the French Junior national team in 1984. He earned his first cap against Australia last October and played American football at the University of Georgia under head coach Vince Dooley. He was a fifth round draft choice of the Phoenix Cardinals of the National Football League and later signed with the New England Patriots. As a pro football player he mostly saw action on special teams. He was also a member of the French bobsled team at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville.

Rob Lumkong, 8, number eight: Age -- 23; Height -- Six feet two inches; Weight -- 225 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Occupation -- Student; Sevens -- 1.

Today's game against Bermuda is Lumkong's first Eagles cap. The tour to Sicily last year was his first selection to an Eagle squad. A standout at the University of California, Lumkong is a native of Trinidad and he began playing rugby there prior to moving to the US. He helped lead the University of California to the National Collegiate Club Championship last year.

Andre Bachelet, 9, halfback: Age -- 23, Height -- Five feet eight inches; Weight -- 180 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Occupation -- Fitness Trainer; Caps -- 2; Sevens -- 6.

Bachelet is one of the new crop of Eagles to come out of the Collegiate All-American programme. His first selection to an Eagle squad was for the 1993 Sicily Sevens tournament and soon earned his first cap at the Can-Am match last year. A native of Sydney, Australia, he has been playing rugby for 19 years. His club are three-time US champions.

Chris O'Brien, 10, outside half: Age -- 29; Height -- Five feet 10 inches; Weight -- 185 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Occupation -- Fitness Trainer; Caps -- 19; Sevens -- 27.

O'Brien toured Hong Kong, Canberra and Fiji as part of the Eagles Sevens squad last year and moved into second place in scoring. He was a member of the 1991 World Cup squad and is the most capped flyhalf in Eagle history. Since his debut in 1988, he has toured the Soviet Union, South America, Japan, Australia, England, Ireland and France. He has scored 119 points in international Test matches for the Eagles. He broke his neck in a match in 1990.

Rich Schurfeld, 11, left wing: Age -- 28; Height -- Six feet one inch; Weight -- 230 pounds; Club -- Belmont Shore, Long Beach, California; Occupation -- Entrepreneur; Caps -- 3.

Schurfeld's explosive play and leadership during the National All-Star Sevens championships won the admiration of US selectors. He began playing rugby as an undergraduate at the Air Force Academy in Colorado and earned his first Eagle selection in 1992. He played as a junior Eagle against a New Zealand Invitational XV and as a US Cougar at the 1990 Melrose International Sevens.

He gained invaluable experience playing for a club in Sydney, Australia in 1990.

Mark Scharrenberg, 12, inside centre: Age -- 24; Height -- Six foot; Weight -- 205 pounds; Club -- Golden Gate, San Francisco; Occupation -- Carpenter; Caps -- 1.

Scharrenberg's second selection to an Eagle team was the Malaysian 10s tournament in January. He earned his first cap against Australia last October, based largely on his performance at training camp. He played representative rugby for the Pacific Coast Collegiate Grizzlies last year and was named All-American.

Mark Williams, 13, outside centre: Age -- 32; Height -- Five feet 11 inches; Weight -- 192 pounds; Clubs -- Aspen, Colorado and Golden Gate, San Francisco; Occupation -- Interior Designer; Caps -- 19; Sevens -- 14.

Williams was selected to play against Australia in October, but was forced to withdraw because of an injury. He was one of three Eagle players to participate in all three World Cup matches in 1991, including the game against his native England at Twickenham. He played for Wasps for four years and was captain in 1984.

Gary Hein, 14, right wing: Age -- 28; Height -- Five feet 11 inches; Weight -- 175 pounds; Club -- Berkeley Old Blues; Occupation -- Law clerk; Caps -- 24; Sevens -- 28.

The Sevens Rugby World Cup was Heins' second tour as Eagle Sevens captain. He has 24 Eagle XV caps under his belt, earning his first in 1987 against Tunisia. He was a member of the 1987 and 1991 World Cup squads, and was one of three players to play in all three matches in 1991. The England match was his return to Twickenham where he played for Oxford University. He led the University of California to three National Collegiate titles. He is quickly gaining notoriety as one of the premier Sevens backs for Eagles. Nicknamed Hitman, he led the Old Blues to National Club championship in 1992. He is the grandson of New York Giants star Mel Hein.

Maika Sika, 15, fullback: Age -- 25; Height -- Five feet 10 inches; Weight -- 200 pounds; Club -- Brigham Young University, Laie, Hawaii; Occupation -- Student; Caps -- 2.

Sika earned his first Eagle cap against Canada last June and followed that up with tremendous play against Australia in October where he broke his cheekbone but continued to play. A native on Tonga, Sika first played rugby as a teenager. Last year he also played in the US Rugby All-Star championships.

Sean Allen, 17, hooker: Age -- 26; Height -- Five feet 10 inches; Weight -- 210 pounds; Club -- Old Mission Beach, San Diego; Occuptation -- Self-employed businessman.

Jay Wilkerson, 18, forward: Age -- 27; Height -- Six feet two inches; Weight -- 225 pounds; Club -- Belmont Shore, Long Beach, California; Occupation -- Sales representative; Caps -- 2; Sevens -- 5.
