Social Club Blue Sox lead their best-of-five play-off finals with Hornets 2-0 after their 10-1 win on Thursday night.
Blue Sox stamped their authority on the game in the first inning as they scored four runs off three hits and added three more in the second to chase Hornets' starting pitcher Steven Perinchief. Hornets got their lone run in the seventh.
For the winners, Dean Williams went three-for-three while Braxton Stowe went two-for-two and Headley Furbert two-for-three. Austin John went two-for-four for Hornets. Winning pitcher was Robert Dill while Perinchief was tagged with the loss.
Snow Balls beat Bank of Butterfield Flyers 14-6 to go 2-0 up in their series as Blake Fizzard went three-for-three and Francois Morin two-for-three. Both batters hit two home runs with Fizzard also having four RBI and Morin three.
In a losing cause, Kevin Monkman and John Gills both went two-for-three. Mario Valcourt was the winning pitcher while Cameron Renaud suffered the loss.
In the other game, Arthur Andersen took a 1-0 lead in their series against Gorillas as they thrashed their opponents 25-9.
Tony Cordeiro led the Andersen batters with four-for-four while Michael Hoss hit a home run in his three-for-five.
Martha Bzdel was the winning pitcher while Winston suffered the loss.
