Bermuda Karting Club with a little room to roll.
BLDC is freeing-up a quarter of a mile stretch of road at Southside, in St.
David's. The club, which boasts 40 members, has signed a licence for the temporary use of the road, which is located on low-lying ground bounded by the former NATO hanger to the west, and the Airport airfield to the south.
The club will use the track on alternate Sundays for 15 race days, and for two preliminary test days starting on October 26. The first official race day is slated for Sunday, November 9.
Under the terms of their licence, the go-karters have fitted their machines with new mufflers. The mufflers were tested and approved earlier this summer by the Department of Health and Safety.
Personnel from the St. John's Ambulance brigade are also required to attend on all race days.
The track will be open to club members between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
For further information please contact club Secretary Treasurer Ms Vicky Robinson, or Vice President John Madeiros at 297-7702.
