The final road race of the season -- a race with a difference -- takes place in St. George's this evening.

The Heritage Night 5K, which gets underway from York Street at 7.00 p.m., will be decided on weight handicap with the runners' positions being determined by dividing their finishing time in seconds by their weight in pounds.

Traditionally the event has favoured the heavier runners.

Entries closed yesterday but will be accepted at an increased fee of $20 up until 6.45 p.m. this evening.

Prizes will be awarded to the weight handicap winners as well as the first and second male and female runners across the line.
